What's in every Veriva softgel

Two things you'd recognize, and a softgel to hold them. No proprietary blends, no fillers, and the full label is right here.

Four things, nothing hidden

Softgels on a lab watch glass beside a vial

R-Alpha Lipoic Acid, 600 mg

The active ingredient. Alpha lipoic acid comes in two mirror-image forms, R and S. Your body makes and uses the R-form, and it's the only form in Veriva.

Coconut Oil

The carrier. R-ALA is suspended in coconut oil inside the softgel instead of being pressed into a dry powder, so it's smooth to swallow with no chalky taste.

The Softgel

Gelatin, glycerin, zinc oxide and purified water, the standard shell that keeps the oil sealed and fresh until you take it. Nothing else inside.

What's Not In It

No soy, dairy or gluten. Non-GMO. No artificial colors, flavors or fillers. Every batch is tested by an independent lab before it ships.

Exactly what's on the label

This is the same panel printed on the back of every Veriva pouch. If you read nothing else on this site, read this.

Why R-form only

Standard ALA is a 50/50 mix of R and S. The R-form is the one your body makes and the one your energy enzymes use, so every milligram counts.

Why coconut oil

Alpha lipoic acid is fat-soluble. A coconut-oil softgel is easy to take with breakfast and avoids the dry powder most capsules use.

Allergen note

Contains tree nuts (coconut). Free of soy, dairy and gluten. The softgel shell is gelatin, so Veriva is not vegan.

How to take it

Simple on purpose

One softgel, once a day

Take it with a meal. Alpha lipoic acid is fat-soluble, so food helps, and a fixed time makes it easy to remember.

Give it 3 to 5 weeks

That's when most alpha lipoic acid studies checked results. Don't judge it on day one, and you have 90 days to decide.

Store it cool and dry

Keep the zip sealed. Softgels don't like heat or humidity, and the pouch keeps them fresh until the printed expiry date.

Ask your doctor first

Especially if you take medicine for blood sugar, since alpha lipoic acid can lower it. Not for use if pregnant or nursing.
